
Radisson SAS Astoria Hotel, Vilnius, 2006 12 18 The conference was held by Achema AB, Lifosa AB and Mažeikių Nafta AB together with the following partners: Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania, Lithuanian Industrialists Confederation. To strengthen responsibility for environment in Lithuania, we need to arrive at the agreement at national level that would determine the key areas and priorities in this field, promote collaboration between state institutions, industrial undertakings, education establishments and non-governmental organizations. This statement was made during the national environmental conference "Dialogue Between Industry and Environment: How to Teach Responsibility for Environment?" held in Vilnius. Survey carried out by Spinter Tyrimai UAB and used by conference participants revealed that the majority of Lithuanian population (61%) neither takes active part in environment protection nor has any considerable interest (92.2%) in environmental matters. The conference decided to initiate and draw the National Agreement that would determine the key areas and priorities in this field, promote collaboration between state institutions, industrial undertakings, education community and public organizations. Unite our forces to protect the nature of our country," Bronislovas Lubys, President of the Lithuanian Industrialists Confederation encouraged participants of the conference "Dialogue Between Industry and Environment: How to Teach Responsibility for Environment?" held in Vilnius.
