According to preliminary data, income of the concern Achema Group amounted to LTL 5.042 billion in the year 2008, i.e. this indicator is by 35.2 per cent higher compared to 2007 when income of the concern amounted to LTL 3.729 billion.

Projektų Centras UAB participated in the project "Gazelė 2008" for small and medium-sized business organised by "Verslo žinios" and won the 1st place and 2nd place in Kaunas region and Lithuania respectively by change in income. Due to a perfect team and good timely decisions, change in income through the years 2004-2008 was 3 342 per cent.

Just before St. Christmas, on 23rd December, AB Achema presented Jonava with the new bus IRISBUS IVECO CROSSWAY. The new bus will join Jonavos Autobusų Parkas (Jonava Bus Fleet), whereas the first trip was made by the route Achema - Jonava. Achema support for communities has deep traditions: each year, some LTL 4 million on the average is assigned by the company to social and cultural needs of the community.

On Saturday, a record of cargo stevedoring of Klaipėda port was achieved at KLASCO Fertiliser Terminal. To the ship Swift-Fortune, 64.7 thousand tons of potassium fertilisers were loaded. Thus far, the greatest amount loaded to one ship was 64.3 thousand tons of fertilisers - this record was achieved at KLASCO Fertiliser Terminal three years ago.

By the decision of the Senate members of the Lithuanian University of Agriculture, Agrochema UAB was awarded the title of the Patron. This way, the agrobusiness company was thanked for considerable financial support allocated to the university. Agrochema has been cooperating with the scientists of the Lithuanian University of Agriculture for eight years already.

For third year already, the agro business company Agrochema organises international field days attended by farmers of foreign countries wishing to get acquainted with Lithuanian farms. Each year, different Lithuanian farms are introduced. In the middle of July, Lithuania was visited by a delegation of Estonian farmers. In Šeduva, Estonian farmers took a look at the agricultural centre, visited the farm of Zigmantas Aleksandravičius situated in Kupiškis region.

Last Friday, a new production department, i.e. methanol plant was opened at Achema. Construction of the new plant was started in 2006. At the plant, state-of-the-art technology is used enabling to save energy resources and reduce emissions to the environment.

On Saturday, the basketball tournament Žaliasis Kamuolys (Green Ball) took place in Vingis Park, Vilnius. After tough competitions that lasted all day long the triplet from Juodupė Gymnasium, Rokiškis region triumphed in the tournament and with the result 9:8 in the final won over the team of Šiauliai J. Janonis School. The team from Rokiškis was awarded the main prize established by the organisers, i.e. the fully equipped basketball ground the covering whereof is made of the recycled tyres. The tournament was organised by the environmental movement Žalioji Karta (Green Generation).
